The offensive surge allowed Randy Wolf (7-8) to pick up a victory over the Braves for the first time in seven years. He had made 12 starts against Atlanta in that span without a win.
Wolf gave up three runs on seven hits in six innings and left the game with a 6-3 cushion.
Braun hit his third homer in four games in the third inning to give Milwaukee a 4-0 lead and the Brewers broke things open with a three-run eighth that included a two-run double from Prince Fielder.
It was Milwaukee's fourth victory in five games.
The loss went to Tommy Hanson (8-6), who surrendered four runs on six hits in five innings.
