Williams jumped ahead of Caroline Wozniacki, pushing the Danish player to fourth, in the only changes in the women's Top 10. Williams' ranking point total remained at 5,606 but Wozniacki lost points by skipping the Swedish Open, an event she where finished second in 2009, and totals 5,555 points.
Serena Williams, with 8,475 points, is No. 1 in the world. She's been on top for a total of 110 weeks, which is the seventh most in WTA history.
Jelena Jankovic (5,900 points) is second and, after Venus Williams and Wozniacki, Samantha Stosur (4,890) is fifth.
Elena Dementieva (4,670) is ranked No. 6 with Kim Clijsters (4,510) in seventh and Francesca Schiavone (4,425) eighth. Vera Zvonareva (3,965) is ninth and Li Na (3,756) completes the Top 10.
