Rangers' Hamilton earns AL monthly honor

Hamilton went 49-for-108 last month, including 10 doubles, nine homers and 31 RBI. He threw in three stolen bases for good measure. His 49 hits were a club record for one month, and he had a 23-game hitting streak.

It's the third time Hamilton has won the monthly award, the other times coming in April and May of 2008.

He beat out Boston's Adrian Beltre (.376, seven homers and 19 RBI) and Texas teammate Vladimir Guerrero (.356, six homers and 24 RBI).
