'Emma' top baby name in Missouri, Kansas

Kansas City, Mo. -- A Missouri newspaper has compiled the most popular baby names in the state and Kansas, with Emma, Jacob and Ethan topping the lists.

The Kansas City Star said its lists of the most popular baby names in the states for 2009 featured Emma as the top girl name for both locations, with Jacob topping the Missouri boys' list and Ethan taking top honors for Kansas.

Rounding out the Top 5 girl names for Missouri were Olivia, Isabella, Ava and Madison, while Isabella, Ava, Olivia and Abigail finished off the Top 5 for Kansas.

Following Jacob on the Missouri list were Ethan, William, Jackson and Logan, while Ethan was followed on the Kansas list by William, Jacob, Alexander and Noah.
