Mark Buehrle worked his way out of a big sixth-inning jam to keep the White Sox in front and they inched within 3 ½ games of first-place Minnesota in the American League Central.
Quentin's two-run homer in the fourth finished off a three-run inning that gave Chicago a 3-1 lead and he added a solo shot in the seventh to finish the scoring.
Buehrle (6-6) lasted six innings to get the win. He gave up two runs on nine hits and struck out four.
Atlanta loaded the bases with one out in the sixth, but Buehrle got both Melky Cabrera and Omar Infante on infield popups to end the threat.
Bobby Jenks worked the ninth to pick up his 16th save.
Atlanta saw its lead in the National League East cut to a half game over the New York Mets.
The contest was delayed at the start by rain.
