The biggest question for the women's draw, released Friday, was whether Serena and Venus Williams, ranked No. 2 in the world, would end up in different halves and set up a potential third consecutive -- and fifth overall -- all-Williams final. That could indeed happen when the women's final is contested July 3.
The path there, however, appears tougher for Serena. Her half of the draw includes third-seeded Caroline Wozniacki, No. 6-seeded Samantha Stosur and seventh-seeded Angieszka Radwanska. Also, ninth-seeded Li Na and No. 10 Flavia Pennetta are in the upper half of the draw.
Serena Williams, who could also meet 16th-seeded Maria Sharapova in the third round, has a potential quarterfinal match against Radwanska and Wozniacki would likely need to get by Stosur before reaching the semifinals.
Venus Williams' half of the draw includes fourth-seeded Jelena Jankovic, fifth-seeded Francesca Schiavone, coming off a surprising French Open title, and eighth-seeded Kim Clijsters. If the tournament goes according to seeds, Williams would play Schiavone in the quarters.
An interesting potential third-round match is Clijsters against Justine Henin. Both players ended long layoffs in the last year.
