Stosur, the tournament's No. 3 seed, won two-thirds of the points after the first set in a 6-7 (5-7), 6-1, 6-0 victory over Elena Baltacha. Stosur didn't lose her serve and had 15 aces in the match.
After losing the first-set tie-breaker, she lost four points over three service games in the second set and allowed Baltacha just six points on serve in the third.
Eighth-seeded Marion Bartoli, the only other seeded player left in the field, was pushed to three sets over nearly 3 hours before she got past Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).
Also Thursday, Victoria Azarenka ousted fifth-seeded Kim Clijsters 7-6 (8-6), 6-4; and Ekaterina Makarova took out Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-4, 7-5.
Friday's semifinals will pit Stosur against Makarova while Bartoli will play Azarenka.
