MLB: Los Angeles Angels 7, Kansas City 2

Kansas City, Mo. -- Torii Hunter's two-run single in the first gave Los Angeles a quick start Wednesday and the Angels coasted to a 7-2 win over Kansas City.

Hunter scored the third run of the first inning on a fielder's choice grounder by Mike Napoli and added a solo homer in the seventh that gave the Angels a 7-1 lead.

Bobby Abreu contributed to the 14-hit attack with a first-inning double, making him just one of four players in major league history with 500 doubles, 250 home runs and 350 stolen bases. The other three are Barry Bonds, Rickey Henderson and Craig Biggio.

Scott Kazmir (4-5) collected only his second win in seven starts, allowing a run on five hits over 5 2/3 innings.

Kyle Davies (4-4) surrendered six runs on eight hits in four-plus innings to take the loss.

Kansas City has dropped four out of five. The Angels have defeated the Royals in 11 of their last 13 meetings.
