Reds place P Bailey on disabled list

Cincinnati -- Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Homer Bailey has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation, the team said Monday.

Bailey was removed after lasting only 2 1/3 innings in Sunday's start against Cleveland, complaining of shoulder tightness. He was charged with three runs on four hits and a walk in the brief outing.

Bailey has compiled a 1-2 record and 5.51 ERA in nine starts this season, registering 41 strikeouts and 21 walks in 50 2/3 innings.

The Reds recalled reliever Enerio Del Rosario from Triple-A Louisville to take Bailey's spot on the roster. Del Rosario, who has never appeared in a major league game, has a 1.46 ERA with 17 strikeouts and four walks in 24 2/3 innings for Louisville this season.
