MLB: Baltimore 5, Washington 3

Washington -- Adam Jones put Baltimore in front for good with a two-run homer in the second Friday, and the Orioles held on to defeat Washington 5-3.

Jones left the game in the top of the fourth with leg cramps after producing his fourth home run of the season.

Craig Tatum added two hits and scored twice, helping the Orioles win for just the second time in seven games.

David Hernandez (1-5) recorded his first victory since Aug. 11 of last season. He allowed a run on just one hit but walked five in 5 1/3 innings. Alfredo Simon allowed a hit in the ninth en route to his sixth save.

Willie Harris hit a two-run homer for Washington, losers of seven out of eight.

Scott Olsen (2-2) suffered the loss, giving up four runs on six hits in three innings. He left the game with tightness in his pitching shoulder.
