Celebs bring aid, comfort to Haiti

Port-Au-Prince, Haiti -- Celebrities have been descending on Haiti in droves to offer aid and comfort to victims of the Jan. 12 earthquake that leveled much of Port-au-Prince.

From first lady Michelle Obama to Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, famous faces -- and their many body guards -- have been touring the destruction week in and week out since the devastating 7-magnitude quake, The Miami Herald reported Saturday.

Sean Penn is among those glitterati taking a lead in the recovery effort, pitching a tent on Haiti's only golf course at the Petionville Club, where a homeless center has been established. Some locals have begun referring to Penn as "mayor," the Herald said.

John Travolta and several of his fellow Scientologists flew in his Boeing 707 to the island nation, where they delivered supplies and practiced "touch therapy" on relief workers and survivors.

Other big wigs offering firsthand money and aid include Susan Sarandon, Demi Moore and Ben Stiller.
