Holliday went 2-for-5 and scored twice, helping the Cardinals down the Reds for the second time in as many games.
It was a 2-2 tie going into the seventh, which Skip Schumaker opened with a single off losing pitcher Danny Herrera. Brendan Ryan drew a walk and Albert Pujols singled in Schumaker with the go-ahead run.
Holliday followed with a double to center to make it 5-2 and Holliday scored on a two-out single by Yadier Molina.
Adam Wainwright started and got the victory by giving up two runs on three hits with six strikeouts over seven innings. Ryan Franklin worked the ninth for the save.
All three Cincinnati runs were driven in by Orlando Cabrera, two of them coming on a homer in the sixth that briefly tied the score.
