NBA: Boston 102, Dallas 93

Dallas -- Paul Pierce scored 29 points and Rajon Rondo got hot down the stretch Saturday, lifting the Boston Celtics to a 102-93 win over Dallas.

Rondo got 10 of 20 points in the final quarter on 5-of-5 shooting as Boston connected on more than 70 percent of its shots in the last 12 minutes, downing the Mavericks and moving a half-game ahead of Atlanta for the No. 3 spot in the Eastern Conference.

Ray Allen added 21 points for Boston in the win.

Dallas got 28 points from Dirk Nowitzki while Jason Terry donated 18 points and Shawn Marion chipped in with 16 in the Mavericks' loss. Dallas holds the third seed in the Western Conference.
