NHL: Nashville 5, Minnesota 0

Nashville -- Pekka Rinne needed to make just 17 saves while recording his fifth shutout of the season Thursday, bringing Nashville a 5-0 victory over Minnesota.

The Predators won their fourth in a row and moved into a tie with Los Angeles for sixth place in the Western Conference.

Rinne, in his second full NHL season, has 12 career shutouts.

Josh Harding started in goal for Minnesota but was lifted after allowing four goals on 26 shots through two periods. Wade Dueielewicz stopped 10 shots in the third. Minnesota had won its previous three games.

Nashville took control with three first-period goals. Colin Wilson and J.P. Dumont scored less than 2 minutes apart early in the contest.
