Dodgers' Scully hospitalized after fall

Los Angeles -- Longtime Los Angeles Dodgers play-by-play announcer Vin Scully, 82, was hospitalized for observation after falling at his home, a team spokesman said.

Scully was admitted to West Hills Hospital and Medical Center Thursday night after he fell out of bed and hit his head, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Josh Rawitch, the Dodgers' vice president of communications, said Scully is expected to rejoin the team in Arizona for Sunday's telecast of the Dodgers game against the Cleveland Indians.

Scully, 82, is entering his 61st season as the Dodgers' broadcaster.
