Study: Employee confidence up at Ford

Detriot -- The Ford Motor Co. says an internal survey indicates confidence in the future of the U.S. company is up among its employees.

The Detroit News said Sunday the latest quarterly report by Ford claimed 89 percent of Ford employees reported having a positive outlook regarding the company's future, a significant increase from 2008 findings.

In a 2008 survey of Ford workers, less than 55 percent of employees offered a positive take regarding the company's future.

Eighty-five percent of respondents in last December's survey said they were optimistic regarding their continued employment with the automaker.

Ford spokeswoman Marcey Evans said the survey, whose polling dates and margin of error were not released, showed positive changes among the company's employees.

"It's a very positive reflection of employee confidence in Ford," Evans told the News. "It reflects their confidence in our company and their confidence in our products."
