NHL: Montreal 5, Edmonton 4 (SO)

Montreal -- Andrei Kostitsyn finally produced a shootout goal in the fifth round Thursday, boosting the Montreal Canadiens to a 5-4 victory over Edmonton.

Montreal won its fourth straight, tying its longest streak of the season. The Canadiens remained two points in front of Boston for seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

Sergei Kostitsyn and Travis Moen both had a goal and an assist for Montreal and Jaroslav Halak made 21 saves to get the win.

The final goal in regulation came from Edmonton's Shawn Horcoff with 10:41 left in the third period.
