The Columbia County Sheriff's Office said a Lake City, Fla., resident called 911 Friday night upon arriving home and noticing several lights in the house had been turned on, First Coast News, Jacksonville, Fla., reported Tuesday.
Investigators said a deputy looked through a window of the home and saw a naked man moving around the residence. Deputies said the man rejected their calls for him to come outside on his own and he was found huddled on the floor of a bedroom.
The suspect, identified as Shane Tyler Tinsman, 25, admitted to breaking into the home and told deputies he was looking for food and a place to sleep.
The homeowner did not find anything missing in the home except the food Tinsman admitted eating, deputies said.
Tinsman was arrested on suspicion of burglary of a dwelling and criminal mischief. He was being held on $2,000 bond while investigators probed possible connections to previous break-ins in the area.
