Hantuchova reaches Monterrey finals

Monterrey, Mexico -- No. 2 seed Daniela Hantuchova reached the finals of the Monterrey Open Saturday, outlasting fourth-seeded Dominika Cibulkova in a semifinal match.

Hantuchova of Slovakia rallied from a set down to defeat fellow countrywoman Cibulkova 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 at the Sierra Madre Tennis Club.

With the win, Hantuchova, 26, reached her first title match since 2007. She is 3-6 lifetime in title tilts.

The day ended at Monterrey without the Slovak knowing her finals opponent. Rain forced the postponement of the second semifinal between No. 3 seed Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia.

The make-up was set for Sunday, with the winner facing Hantuchova later in the day.
