Hantuchova reaches quarterfinals in Mexico

Monterrey, Mexico -- Daniela Hantuchova, the No. 2 seed, coasted into the quarterfinals of the Monterrey Open Thursday with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Kaia Kanepi.

Hantuchova's quarterfinal opponent will be Vania King, who advanced Wednesday with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Julie Coin.

Fourth-seeded Dominika Cibulkova had a more difficult time getting to the quarterfinals, but eventually ousted Sara Errani 3-6, 6-4, 6-1. Cibulkova will next meet No. 5 seed Agnes Szavay, who defeated Anna-Lena Groenefeld 6-1, 6-7 (4-7), 6-1.

Anastasija Sevastova earned her quarterfinal berth with a 6-1, 6-2 decision over Iveta Benesova.
