Rick Spielman, the Vikings vice president of player personnel, told reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis the team isn't worried that Favre's uncertain status is affecting Minnesota's organizational strategy, the (Minneapolis) Star Tribune reported.
"Brett will make his decision when he makes his decision," Spielman told the newspaper, denying that the question mark hanging over the Vikings' quarterback situation is affecting Minnesota's analysis of the upcoming draft or the free-agent market.
"I think everybody feels comfortable with (backup quarterbacks Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels)," he said. "We have stated that we would love to have (Favre) back, but we'll just keep on going about our normal business and continue building our team as we go through these processes over the next six months and see where we end up."
Favre is weighing whether to fulfill the second season of a two-year contract he signed with the Vikings last August in which he would be paid $13 million, the Star Tribune reported.
