Police: Man took panties from open houses

Wauwatosa, Wis. -- Wisconsin police said they arrested a man who allegedly toured area real estate open houses to steal women's underwear.

Wauwatosa police said Robert Remiker, 58, attended several open houses in the Milwaukee area and was spotted opening drawers and taking items at a Wauwatosa event, Wauwatosa NOW reported Tuesday.

Investigators said they found plastic bags containing eight pairs of underwear when they stopped Remiker and he admitted to having about 50 more pairs at his parents' house, where he had been staying.

Remiker, who was arrested in 2004 for allegedly peeping into a neighbor's bathroom window, told police he stole the undergarments because he missed his ex-wife.

The suspect was charged with three misdemeanor counts of theft.
