Tim Lincecum files for salary arbritration

New York -- Two-time National League Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum of San Francisco is one of 128 players who have filed for salary arbitration for the 2010 season.

Lincecum, 25, filed Friday and likely will get a larger payday based on his performance the last two seasons.

The right-hander was 15-7 with four complete games, two shutouts and a 2.48 ERA in 2009 when he made $650,000. In three major league seasons, he has a 40-17 record with 261 strikeouts, developing into one of the game's best starters.

Also, he is the first San Francisco pitcher since Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson (1907-08) to lead the league in strikeouts two straight seasons.

Among others who filed were second baseman Dan Uggla (Florida); closers Jonathan Papelbon (Boston) and Huston Street (Colorado); and outfielders Shane Victorino (Philadelphia), Josh Hamilton (Texas), Carlos Quentin (White Sox) and Andre Ethier (LA Dodgers).

Teams and players will exchange proposed salaries Tuesday.
