The game brought together the teams with the two worst records in the Western Conference. Columbus had lost four in a row and 13 of its previous 14. Edmonton has dropped 11 out of 12.
Sam Gagner scored for Edmonton with 96 seconds having expired in the third but Huselius quickly gave Columbus the lead again with a power-play goal.
Jan Hejda added a score on a slapshot with 8:39 remaining.
Mathieu Garon got the victory by making 24 saves. Garon had not won a game since Nov. 16.
Devan Dubnyk took the loss in just his second start of the season. In those two appearances he has allowed 11 goals.
