Bradley missed the final two weeks last season when he was suspended for making disparaging comments about the team and his shouting match with hitting Coach Von Joshua.
"(Now) you understand why they haven't won in 100 years," Bradley said before he was suspended by General Manager Jim Hendry. "My frustration and disappointment boiled over and I said and did certain things that I regret. In hindsight. I wish that I had handled certain things differently and I apologize for those things that did not work out for the better."
His outspokenness made it difficult for Chicago to find a taker on the trade market before Friday's deal.
Bradley, 31, is a career .277 hitter with 115 home runs and 439 RBI.
Silva, 30, went 5-18 with Seattle last season.
He had signed a four-year, $48 million deal before the 2008 season.
