COL FB: South Carolina 34, Clemson 17

Columbia, S.C. -- Stephen Garcia's three touchdown passes and a dominant defense Saturday led South Carolina to a 34-17 win over arch-rival and 16th-ranked Clemson.

Columbia, S.C. -- Stephen Garcia's three touchdown passes and a dominant defense Saturday led South Carolina to a 34-17 win over arch-rival and 16th-ranked Clemson.

Garcia, playing his final home game, completed 10-of-21 passes for 126 yards with scoring passes in the first, third and fourth quarters.

Kenny Miles gained 114 yards on 17 carries.

Spencer Lanning kicked two field goals.

Brian Maddox ran for a touchdown, and the defense held the Tigers to 260 total yards -- 48 rushing -- for the Gamecocks (7-5), who ended their three-game losing streak.

Clemson's C.J. Spiller scored when he returned the opening kickoff 88 yards.

But Spiller managed just 18 yards on nine carries.

Kyle Parker passed for 212 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Richard Jackson kicked a fourth-quarter field goal for the Tigers (8-4), whose six-game winning streak ended.
