People.com Thursday reported Van Der Beek had filed the papers. He married McComb in July 2003 and separated from her earlier this year.
McComb was a cast member on the TV shows "Profiler" and "Party of Five."
Van Der Beek starred in the young adult drama series "Dawson's Creek." He is slated to appear on an episode of "the forgotten" set to air Dec. 1.
