NHL: Chicago 7, Calgary 1

Calgary, Alberta -- Kris Versteeg scored twice during a second-period onslaught Thursday, sending the Chicago Blackhawks sailing to a 7-1 win over Calgary.

The Blackhawks gave up a game-tying goal 14 seconds into the second period and then scored five times in the stanza. Both of Versteeg's goals came on the power play.

Chicago did its damage on just 19 shots en route to its fifth consecutive win. Calgary has lost two straight.

Six of the Chicago goals came against Miikka Kiprusoff, who finally was replaced by Curtis McElhinney.

The seven goals were the most scored by the Blackhawks this season.
Cristobal Huet made 27 saves for the victory.

Chicago has played Calgary twice this season and outscored the Flames in those games 13-1.
