COL BKB: Villanova 69, George Mason 68

San Juan, Puerto Rico -- Isaiah Armwood's late 3-pointer Thursday boosted sixth-ranked Villanova to a 69-68 win over upstart George Mason at the Puerto Rico Tip-off in San Juan.

The freshman, a reserve from Baltimore, made his only points with 24 seconds left while playing in his third college contest. His winning basket completed Villanova's rally from a 37-28 halftime deficit.

Scottie Reynolds led Villanova with 18 points and five rebounds, but he also was responsible for 10 turnovers.

Corey Fisher scored 17 with six rebounds and five assists. Antonio Pena had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the unbeaten Wildcats (3-0), who also got a 3-pointer from Maalik Wayns in the final minute.

Ryan Pearson led GMU with 14 points and eight rebounds.

Cam Long and Andre Cornelius added 13 points apiece for the Patriots (2-1), who sank only 4-of-8 free throw attempts in the final minutes and couldn't penetrate the Wildcats' defense for a potential game-winning shot.
