About 20 hammocks were imported from Colombia by Three Sisters Toys Inc. of Neptune Beach, Fla., and sold online from December 2007 through July 2008 for about $100 each.
The hammocks can flip over, posing risk of fall and possible entrapment if an infant becomes tangled in the straps.
No incidents have been reported.
The hammocks involved in the recall are cream-colored canvas that hang from a wooden pole. "La Siesta" is printed on a tag located below the restraint straps, the commission said.
Consumers were advised to stop using the baby hammocks and return them to Three Sisters Toys for a full refund.
