Drunken passenger prompts early landing

Khabarovsk -- A Lufthansa airliner made an emergency landing in Khabarovsk, Russia, Saturday because of a drunken passenger, a Russian air traffic control source said.

The unidentified source told RIA Novosti an Airbus A340 traveling from Munich, Germany, to Tokyo made an unscheduled landing in Khabarovsk before completing its journey to Japan with the problematic passenger still on board.

"An A340 with 304 passengers on board bound from Munich to Tokyo made an emergency landing in Khabarovsk due to an improper behavior of one of the passengers," the source said.

Specifics about the unruly passenger's in-flight behavior and identity were not reported.

The delay in the flight at a Khabarovsk airport lasted nearly half an hour, RIA Novosti reported.
