Morrissey performs in London after illness

London -- British singer Morrissey performed at London's Royal Albert Hall Tuesday, just days after collapsing on stage at a gig in Swindon.

The 50-year-old recording artist has scrapped several shows this year due to an undisclosed illness. He was taken to a hospital Saturday night after he became sick and had to be carried from the stage.

Although Monday's scheduled show in Bournemouth was postponed, the singer's spokeswoman told the BBC he is now "rested and absolutely fine."

"Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy night," the British broadcaster quoted the singer as saying at Tuesday's concert, which had been rescheduled after it was canceled in May. "The doctor said I shouldn't smile. I told him, 'I don't.'"
