Jamie McCourt, who formally filed for divorce from Dodgers owner Frank McCourt Tuesday, contended the agreement they signed in 2004 naming Frank McCourt sole owner of the Dodgers was invalid and unenforceable.
Frank McCourt responded with documents he contends trump California's community property laws, which would give his estranged with a 50 percent stake in the team.
The Los Angeles Times said the paperwork was the opening salvo in a legal fight over control of the franchise, which the couple purchased from Fox for $431 million. The agreement granted Mrs. McCourt sole ownership of various personal properties, including eight residences.
Mrs. McCourt is also seeking monthly spousal support of $320,000 and reinstatement as the team's chief executive officer, the report said.
The couple announced Oct. 15 they were separating after almost 30 years of marriage.
