Beyonce's Malaysia show postponed

The BBC quoted the group of Islamic conservatives as denouncing the singer's flirty performing style and revealing stage costumes as "immoral," and claiming a Beyonce concert in Kuala Lumpur would mean the country condones "Western sexy performances."

"The postponement is solely (the) decision of the artist and has nothing to do with other external reasons," organizers Marctensia said in a statement issued to the British broadcaster.

No rescheduled date for Sunday's concert was announced.

Beyonce canceled a planned 2007 concert in the country because she didn't want to adhere to its strict dress code, which includes covering up from the shoulders to the knees.

Singers Avril Lavigne and Gwen Stefani, however, have performed in Malaysia wearing attire deemed acceptable, the BBC noted.
