MLB: Los Angeles Angels 5, Texas 2

Anaheim, Calif., Sept. 30: Mike Napoli drove in a pair of runs Tuesday and the Los Angeles Angels beat Texas 5-2 to eliminate the Rangers from playoff contention.

Napoli connected for a two-run bases-loaded single in the fourth inning to give the Angels a 4-1 lead.

Bobby Abreu had a solo home run of the Angels, who have won three consecutive games.

Sean O'Sullivan (4-2) was credited with the win in a spot start in place of Scott Kazmir. O'Sullivan allowed two runs on three hits in five innings.

Brian Fuentes notched his 46th save.

Scott Feldman (17-7) took the loss, allowing four runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings.

David Murphy had two hits, including a home run, for Texas.

With the Rangers' loss the Boston Red Sox clinched the AL wild-card berth and will play the AL Western Division champion Angels in the first round.
