MLB: Kansas City 2, Chicago White Sox 1

Chicago, Sept. 20 -- Robinson Tejeda and two relievers combined on a six-hitter Sunday, leading the Kansas City Royals to a 2-1 win over the Chicago White Sox.

Tejada (4-1) surrendered a run and three hits in six innings with two walks and five strikeouts in 104 pitches.

Roman Colon gave up two hits in 1 1/3 innings while closer Joakim Soria gave up a hit in 1 2/3 scoreless innings to earn his 26th save.

Mitch Maier hit third-inning RBI single for Kansas City. A run scored on Freddy Garcia's wild pitch in the first, while Willie Bloomquist had two of the five hits for the Royals, who won twice in the three-game series.

Chicago's run scored on one of two hits by A.J. Pierzynski, a fourth-inning single. Scott Podsednik had two hits for the White Sox, who have lost four of five.

Garcia (2-3), the losing pitcher, surrendered two runs and five hits in eight innings.
