MLB: Cleveland 5, Minnesota 2

Cleveland, Sept. 4: Jhonny Peralta's two RBI Friday keyed Cleveland's 5-2 win over Minnesota.

He drove in one run with a double in the bottom of the third inning and another with a single in the seventh.

Travis Hafner and Michael Brantley also drove in runs and one scored on Orlando Cabrera's third-inning throwing error -- one of four Twins errors.

Jamey Carroll had three of the nine hits for the Indians, who stopped their four-game losing streak.

Winner Jeremy Sowers (6-9) gave up two runs and six hits in six innings. Closer Kerry Wood earned his 18th save with a 1-2-3 ninth.

Minnesota scored on an RBI single by Brendan Harris in the fifth and Justin Morneau's sixth-inning sacrifice fly.

Cabrera had two of the six hits for the Twins, who have split their last four games.

Losing pitcher Carl Pavano (11-11) surrendered four runs -- three earned -- and eight hits in six innings to his former team.
