Jason Bartlett and Evan Longoria had three hits, Bartlett had a home run and Longoria scored three runs and had an RBI for the Rays, who scored six times in the first inning.
James Shields (9-10), who won his second straight start, gave up five runs on
10 hits in seven innings.
Carlos Guillen had two home runs and two singles for Detroit, which saw its AL
Central Division lead over second-place Minnesota cut to four games. The Twins and the third-place Chicago White Sox are scheduled to play Monday night.
Tigers' starter Jarrod Washburn (9-8) was charged with eight runs on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings. The left-hander dropped to 1-2 in six starts since joining Detroit in a deal with Seattle.
