Bruntlett makes history in triple play

Bruntlett, playing second base, caught Jeff Francoeur's line drive and doubled up Luis Castillo on second base for the second out before spinning around and tagging Daniel Murphy to complete the 14th unassisted triple play in major league history.

"It's hard to know how to react to it," a surprised Bruntlett said on the team's Web site. "I was almost laughing. That doesn't happen. What do you do there? Game is over (and) high fives."

It was just the second unassisted triple play ever to end a game. The other involved Detroit first baseman John Neun, who did it May 31, 1927, in a game against the Cleveland Indians.

"It was the most unbelievable play I've ever been involved in," Francoeur said. "And the sickest."
