MLB: Seattle 10, New York Yankees 3

Seattle -- Jose Lopez drove in three runs and Ichiro Suzuki had two RBI Sunday in the Seattle Mariners' 10-3 drubbing of the New York Yankees.

Doug Fister (1-0) made his second big league start and came away with the win, giving up three runs on eight hits in seven innings, as Seattle matched their 2008 win total and improved to 61-57.

Derek Jeter got his 2,657th career hit to pass Hall-of-Famer Luis Aparicio for shortstops with the most hits all-time.

Joba Chamberlain (8-3) took the loss after giving up four runs on seven hits in five innings.

Seattle broke the game open with five runs in the seventh inning. Leading 4-3 at the start of the frame, the Mariners loaded the bases with one out, scored two runs on Suzuki's single, and then got RBI hits from Russell Branyan and Lopez. Two Seattle batters were hit by pitches in the inning.
