MLB: Arizona 6, New York Mets 5

New York, Aug. 3: Mark Reynolds had two home runs and three RBI Monday to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 6-5 victory over the New York Mets.

Reynolds, who turned 26 Monday, has had seven home runs 10 RBI in his last seven games. His 32 home runs this season are two behind St. Louis' Albert Pujols for the major league lead.

Miguel Montero also homered for the Diamondbacks, who won for the fourth time in five games.

Winning pitcher Dan Haren (11-6) gave up five runs on eight hits over seven innings. Chad Qualls retired the side in order in the ninth for his 20th save.

Nelson Figueroa (0-2), who came up from Triple-A Buffalo Monday, gave up six runs and 10 hits in 1 2/3 innings.

Luis Castillo had a two-run single and Daniel Murphy an RBI triple for the Mets, who have lost four of their last five games.
