The team said on its Web site the procedure will be performed Monday in Arlington, Texas, by Keith Meister, the team physician for the Texas Rangers.
"He thinks my labrum is fine," Webb said in a text message to MLB.com. "As of right now he is going in to do general cleanup."
"We support his decision to have surgery," General Manager Josh Byrnes said after Sunday's 5-2 Arizona win over the New York Mets. "Obviously, we exhausted every other course of treatment."
Webb, 30, was placed on the 60-day disabled list April 7 for what the team said was right shoulder bursitis. He started just one game this season, giving up six runs and six hits April 6 against the Colorado Rockies.
His career record is 87-62 with 3.27 ERA.
