St. Louis, July 27: Brendan Ryan was 4-for-4 with two RBI and Mark DeRosa added a solo homer Monday to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 6-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Chris Carpenter (9-3) pitched seven-plus innings and gave up one run, nine hits and two walks for St. Louis, which had lost five of seven prior to Monday. Rick Ankiel had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI for the Cardinals.

Losing pitcher Randy Wolf (5-5) allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings.

The Dodgers grounded into four double plays and left 11 on base. Rafael Furcal was 3-for-4 and drove in the only Dodgers run.
