MLB: New York Yankees 11, Tampa Bay 4

St. Petersburg, Fla. July 27: Nick Swisher hit two home runs Monday to lead the New York Yankees in an 11-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.

Winning pitcher A.J. Burnett (10-4) gave up an unearned run on two hits with five strikeouts and two walks in seven innings. The right-hander hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last 11 starts.

Swisher had three RBI for the Yankees, who were coming off a 9-1 homestand.

Robinson Cano had a solo homer and Johnny Damon hit the 200th homer of his career -- a three-run blast in the ninth. Alex Rodriguez drove two runs.

James Shields (6-7) took the loss after yielding five runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Pat Burrell had a solo homer for the Rays.
