Jurrjens and the Braves got the best of San Francisco starter Tim Lincecum, who lost for the first time since June 17.
Atlanta won its fourth straight and has gone 15-6 since plunging to a season-worst six games below .500 late last month.
Escobar's homer gave Atlanta a 4-0 lead and Jurrjens (9-7) took over from there, getting the win by allowing a run on three hits over 7 2/3 innings. He struck out nine, his high total of the year, and won his third straight start.
Rafael Soriano allowed a run in the ninth, but still picked up his 14th save.
Atlanta's pitching staff has not allowed a home run since the All-Star break and has surrendered only 62 all season -- fewest in the majors.
Lincecum (10-3) had won his previous four decisions and had a 5-0 career record against the Braves going into this game. He gave up four runs on seven hits over five innings.
San Francisco has lost six of its last seven outings.
