MLB: Colorado 1, Washington 0

Denver, July 6: Jason Marquis pitched eight scoreless innings and got his MLB-leading 11th win Monday when the Colorado Rockies beat Washington 1-0.

Marquis (11-5) gave up seven hits and walked two. He has not allowed a run in his last 17 innings.

Huston Street earned his 20th save of the year.

Todd Helton drove in the lone run of the game in the first inning when Clint Barmes scored from first on Helton's double. Barmes was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

Craig Stammen (1-4) gave up the run on five hits with one walk to take the loss for the Nationals.

Josh Bard had two hits for Washington, which is 3-7 in its last 10 games.
