DeRosa put on 15-day disabled list

St. Louis -- Cardinals' utility man Mark DeRosa has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a the team said.

The action is retroactive to July 1.

St. Louis acquired DeRosa June 28 from Cleveland for pitcher Chris Perez and a player to be named later.

DeRosa is hitless in nine at bats, with one walk, since he was acquired by the Cards. He was batting .270 with 13 home runs in 71 games with Cleveland.

Also in St. Louis, the Cards optioned infielder Tyler Greene to Memphis, and recalled infielder Brian Barden and outfielder Nick Stavinoha from the Triple-A team.
