Haren (7-5) struck out nine and gave up just four hits and a walk while lowering his National League-leading earned-run average to 2.19. He retired the first 11 Reds he faced.
Haren has allowed two runs or less in seven straight starts.
Miguel Montero, who had a home run, and Mark Reynolds each had three hits and two RBI for Arizona, which ended a five-game losing streak.
Ramon Hernandez and Brandon Phillips each drove in a run for Cincinnati. Bronson Arroyo (8-7) gave up six runs on 10 hits and four walks in 5 1/3 innings in Cincinnati's sixth loss in its last nine games.
