Holyfield's estate under foreclosure again

Fairburn, Ga. -- Evander Holyfield's $20 million, 54,000-square-foot, 109-room Atlanta-area estate is under foreclosure for the second time in a year, a public notice says.

Fairburn, Ga. -- Evander Holyfield's $20 million, 54,000-square-foot, 109-room Atlanta-area estate is under foreclosure for the second time in a year, a public notice says.

A lien holder is demanding the former heavyweight boxing champion make full repayment of an original $10 million loan, the notice in the Fayette (Ga.) Daily News said.

The lien holder plans to auction the property on the Fayette County Courthouse steps July 7 if Holyfield doesn't pay up in full, the notice said.
Holyfield did not return a call seeking comment.

Last June Holyfield received a foreclosure notice for the estate at 794 Evander Holyfield Highway, threatening to auction the property July 1, but Holyfield -- a multiple world champion in both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions, earning him the nickname "The Real Deal" -- was able to strike a deal to stay in his home, which sits on 235 acres, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Holyfield, 46, has a second Fayette County property, with an original loan amount of $216,000, also under foreclosure, the newspaper said.

Holyfield has grossed more than $248 million in the ring, but two divorces, several failed business ventures and child-support payments believed to total
$500,000 a year have hurt his finances, the newspaper said.

The father of 11 last boxed in December, losing to World Boxing Association champion Nikolai Valuev in Switzerland. His last big payday came in 2003, when he received $5 million to fight James "Lights Out" Toney.

In late 2007 and early 2008, Holyfield appeared in TV ads for the Zaxby's "real chicken" restaurant chain, which operates mostly in the U.S. Southeast.

Asked about his finances last June, Holyfield told the Journal-Constitution: "I'm not broke. I'm just not liquid."
