MLB: San Francisco 4, Oakland 1

Oakland, Calif. June 24: San Francisco's Tim Lincecum struck out a dozen Oakland batters and threw a complete-game in Tuesday's 4-1 inter-league victory over the Athletics.

Lincecum (7-2) gave up seven hits, including a home run by Jason Giambi, and walked two in his fourth career complete game. He pitched out of bases-loaded jams in the fifth and sixth innings.

Edgar Renteria and Bengie Molina each had two hits and an RBI for the Giants, who have won four of their last five games.

Vin Mazzaro (2-2) took the loss. He worked six innings, giving up all four runs on seven hits. He struck out six.

San Francisco scored all of their runs in the first two innings.

Pablo Sandoval doubled in the first to score Andres Torres and advanced to third on the throw to the plate. He then came home from third on Molina's sacrifice fly.

In the second, Renteria doubled Randy Winn home and then moved to third on an infield hit by Nate Schierholtz. Renteria scored on a sacrifice fly by Matt Downs to make it 4-0.

Giambi got the A's on the board in the bottom of the second.

Oakland loaded the bases in the fifth and sixth innings, but got out unscathed with the help of a timely double play in each inning. The Athletics also put runners at the corners in the seventh but could not score.
